Overview

Summary:Has demonstrated the ability to train staff in all clerical functions to include registration, scheduling, pod secretary/check out and medical records. Scrubs provider schedules daily to ensure proper scheduling is taking place and that proper patient check-in, insurance verification and guarantor is correct. Understands different training methods and can adjust training method to suit the learner. Acts as a resource to all staff on a continuing basis. Reviews Epic queue daily to work prior authorizations and ensure authorization is obtained in a timely manner. Demonstrates a commitment to Presbyterian s Sense of Mission by role modeling the CARES behaviors and appropriate customer service techniques daily.

Qualifications

Other information: High school (G.E.D.) required. Two years experience fielding healthcare with significant MD and patient interaction is required. Physician office experience preferred. Minimum of one year EPIC experience. Must be able to demonstrate competency in registration and scheduling. Ability to pass all EPIC competencies within 30 days of hire.UPDATED 5/6/2022

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:*Perform the duties of the clerical staff in all functional areas to include Registration, Scheduling, Pod Secretary/Check Out and Medical Records daily. Has demonstrated competence in all specified areas*Acts as a core member of the Peer Interview Team utilizing all interview techniques*Train and mentor clerical staff in the areas of Registration, Scheduling, Pod Secretary/Check Out and Medical Records*Administer competency testing to staff, review results and make recommendations for further training if needed*In absence of the Clerical Supervisor, will coordinate the staffing schedule to ensure accurate and competent coverage in the event of staff vacations and call-ins*Facilitates the operations of the clinic by providing support to clerical staff when Clerical Supervisor is absent from the site. Communicates appropriate situations to Clinical Supervisor and Practice Administrator*Obtain authorizations from payers for procedure orders sent out by primary care providers. *Completes daily deposit and ensures cash, checks and credit cards balance with Epic/Dentrix daily reports. Completes and transmits monthly Deposit log by assigned due date. *Scrubs provider schedules daily to ensure proper scheduling is taking place and that proper patient check-in, insurance verification and guarantor is correct. Coaches staff when errors are found and documents coaching sessions. * Performs other duties as assigned.
