Job Description

AECOM Tishman is hosting an exclusive, invitation-only hiring event in New York, NY on Feb 26th.

If you're a current college student majoring in a construction management or an engineering field and graduating in December 2024 or May 2025, we'd love to hear from you! 

We encourage creativity, support flexibility, value diversity and embrace the new and the ground-breaking. At AECOM, you’ll be exposed to more technical excellence and disciplines than anywhere else, working with visionary clients, partners, colleagues and mentors. 

The event kicks off the morning of Feb 26th with a presentation and networking opportunity where you can hear from AECOM staff about various projects, career paths, and the company itself. You’ll also have the chance to meet other students, recent graduates, and AECOM professionals. 

Following the presentations, interviews will be conducted in our New York office. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about and connect with AECOM for career opportunities starting immediately and in Summer 2025.

Job Description

As a Graduate Construction Project Engineer, you will provide essential support to our project management team. Your responsibilities will include analyzing shop drawings, interpreting contract plans, and addressing complex construction issues. This position will be based in New York, NY.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide comprehensive support to your assigned department/project, engaging in daily construction operations.
  • Maintain professional communication with clients and colleagues, supporting all company initiatives.
  • Collaborate with your Supervisor to effectively plan and coordinate project activities, including schedules and budgets.
  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of projects that enhance our organization's standing in the industry.
  • Work closely with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders to strategize and execute assignments efficiently.
  • Learn from experienced professionals in the field to develop your skills and industry knowledge.
  • Prepare professional correspondence, including letters, memos, and reports as required.
  • Manage and maintain spreadsheets, databases, and reports to ensure accurate data tracking and analysis.
  • Conduct research, report findings, and recommend solutions to improve project outcomes.
  • Organize and facilitate meetings, including preparing agendas, recording minutes, and following up on action items.

This position demands a high level of commitment to construction excellence and offers a solid foundation for building a successful career in the construction industry.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Candidate must have completed Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Building Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or similar major, or have demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Prior Internship experience within the construction industry.
  • Experience working on a live construction site.
  • Able to follow directions and interact with all levels of management on a working construction project.
  • Experience engaging with multiple trades on a construction project.
