The Americas Finance team provides comprehensive reporting, analysis, and partnership to the Americas Commercial leadership team and currently has an opportunity for a Financial Analyst that will report directly to the Director, Finance - Americas Business Performance Controlling. In this role, the Financial Analyst will support the forecasting and analysis of key financial metrics, prepare and deliver executive presentations, and partner with the Americas Commercial team.

Financial Analyst, Business Performance Controlling

Role Summary: 
The Americas Finance team provides comprehensive reporting, analysis, and partnership to the Americas Commercial leadership team and currently has an opportunity for a Financial Analyst that will report directly to the Director, Finance - Americas Business Performance Controlling.  In this role, the Financial Analyst will support the forecasting and analysis of key financial metrics, prepare and deliver executive presentations, and partner with the Americas Commercial team.  Activities and responsibilities for this role include:

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Support activities to run Business Performance Controlling for Americas Finance including: 1) operational point of contact for the team, 2) coordinate weekly, monthly, and annual forecasting meetings and materials, 3) validate and align data and reports across systems, 4) generate standardized reporting packages, and 5) perform ad-hoc analysis and project management
  • Support periodic planning and close cycles (strategic and annual planning, monthly forecasts, quarter-end close) and preparation for management review meetings
  • Support accurate forecasting and analysis of financials including orders, revenue, margin, and operating expenses to provide detailed insights and drive profitability
  • Perform financial modeling of pricing, regional mix, product mix, cost savings, and currency impacts to understand business drivers and provide transparency for key stakeholders
  • Provide business partnership to the Americas Commercial team by sharing key data, metrics, and analysis to drive financial performance and achieve targets
  • Develop executive level presentations with insightful analysis to influence decision making
  • Leverage data to identify and solve problems, scale processes, and improve efficiency
  • Collaborate across a diverse and global group of teams including Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Credit & Collections, and Treasury
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting, analysis, and projects as needed

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration (or equivalent) and 2-5 years related work experience, preferably in the medical device industry
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills combined with strong business acumen to effectively interact with management and drive decision making 
  • Exhibit confidence and integrity with the ability to listen and be a strong team player to encourage collaboration and foster a positive work environment
  • Strong ethical values demonstrated in communication, actions, and decision making to ensure compliance with accounting standards (i.e. GAAP/IFRS), as well as internal and external controls
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills with the ability to link financial results to operational performance drivers and generate impactful changes in the business
  • Strong computer skills with a high-level of proficiency in Microsoft Office products (including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), an understanding of ERP systems such as SAP, and financial modeling or reporting tools such as Jedox, Qlikview, etc.
  • Experience with accounting concepts including revenue recognition and cost accounting (manufacturing variances, overhead absorption, inventory, etc.) preferred
