The Role:
Lead the physical safety of Block Inc. employees and secure critical business assets. Oversee site reviews, safety measures, and comprehensive security strategies to ensure a safe working environment. The Security Program Manager is a leadership role responsible for shaping the security strategy for Block. Reporting to the Head of Trust & Safety, this role serves as a key advisor to internal teams and supports the development of holistic security measures. We seek a strategic leader to design and implement security measures that protect employees and safeguard critical business operations. You will drive the security strategy, ensuring the integrity and trust of the organization.
You Have:
Leadership Skills:
- Provide leadership and strategic direction for physical security operations.
- Collaborate with internal teams to monitor and mitigate potential security threats across locations and operations.
- Identify emerging risks, track potential threats, and help adapt security measures to stay ahead of evolving challenges.
- Guide the development of security programs, aligning resources and capabilities to address evolving security needs.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex security issues and coach security staff to address challenges effectively.
- Oversee security measures for employee travel and on-site operations as needed.
Management Background:
- Oversee access control processes and ensure facilities are properly secured.
- Assess and mitigate risks to ensure the safety of employees and operational continuity.
- Train security staff and third-party contractors on relevant procedures and best practices.
- Ensure security programs align with relevant compliance standards and undergo regular audits.
- Manage contracts, tools, and security standards to maintain effective security operations.
Development Background:
- Develop, update, and enforce Security Policies and Emergency Action Plans.
- Drive risk analysis, mitigation strategies, and incident response initiatives.
- Monitor facilities using surveillance and other security technologies to ensure comprehensive security coverage.
- Investigate security incidents and coordinate corrective actions to mitigate future risks.
- Conduct periodic security assessments and collaborate with external facilities as necessary.
Job Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in Physical/Facilities Security Management, with a focus on operational security.
- 5+ years of experience in program management, ideally in a leadership capacity.
- Desired certifications: CPP, PSP, or similar security-related credentials.
- Experience with security standards applicable to complex or high-risk environments.
- Strong proficiency in risk management and security frameworks.
- Ability to lead and communicate effectively, with proven leadership and team-building capabilities.
- Familiarity with the unique challenges of securing high-value business assets (physical and digital).
Nice to Haves:
- 10+ years in security operations within a leading Consumer Internet, Technology, or Financial Services company.
- 5+ years of experience interacting with regulators or overseeing compliance within highly regulated sectors.
- 4+ years of experience working with innovative or emerging technologies.
