ROLE SUMMARY
The Sr. Associate Reporting, Analytics and Insights is responsible for querying databases, preparing reports and transforming data into actionable insights that drive business decision-making. Ensures payroll reporting and payments are compliant with company policy, local regulations and generally accepted accounting principles. This role requires excellent analytical skills with the ability to spot numerical errors, recognize trends and provide guidance for improved colleague experience. The Sr. Associate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, measure performance, and recommend strategies for improvement.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and analyze all activities related to base pay, overtime, payroll tax, and banking activity.
- Gathers and reports on payroll accuracy and all other related payroll, tax and time and attendance metrics.
- Query ADP and Kronos databases and analyze data to determine errors/inconsistencies and provide direction on resolution.
- Analyze all issues related to payroll accuracy to determine root cause and make suggestions for improvement.
- Document process flows as needed using Visio software and Power Point.
- Serve as lead functional tester in support of payroll related changes, test new earning and deduction codes, and support any conversion projects.
- Analyze case trends and volumes and make recommendations for efficiency gains.
- Determine impact analysis when payroll errors occur.
- Provide clarification of policies and ensure adherence of policies regarding timekeeping and payroll.
- Partner closely with Payroll and Digital technical team to provide testing and ongoing monitoring of jobs and interfaces.
- Support all complex payroll and timekeeping enhancements/issue resolution and reporting.
- Perform analysis of system processes and ensure accurate calculations, mapping, earning and deduction code set ups etc.
- Analyze specialized payroll system calculations such as retroactive pay, taxes etc.
- Assist with troubleshooting variances related to pay and taxes and provide guidance for actioning.
- Assist in testing of system implementation/upgrades identifying and resolving errors, missed processes etc.
- Provide excellent and professional customer service to employees and external departments.
- Assist in testing union contract updates and test to ensure calculation in payroll are correct.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Human Resources, OR related field required with 3 years relevant experience OR master’s degree with 1-year relevant experience, OR associate degree with 6 years relevant experience, OR 8 years relevant experience with high school diploma.
- Ability to research, troubleshoot system errors and other complex payroll and tax calculations to bring issues to resolution.
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Knowledge of payroll labor laws and tax laws
- Strong critical thinking, problem analysis and resolution skills
- Data and database analysis
- Must be customer service oriented and able to communicate effectively with all personnel levels.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with Workday, ADP, Kronos or other common HCM, payroll and time/attendance systems preferred.
- Certified Payroll Professional, or similar professional designation preferred.
