ManTech seeks a highly talented Project Engineer with skills, background, and experience related to Launch Vehicle (LV) systems, project management, and software productivity tool use, to help the Space Force redefine the future of Assured Access to Space (AATS). This position is based in El Segundo, CA.

This position will support the United States Space Force (USSF) AATS Engineering Division and the launch services they procure.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide LV systems engineering expertise at our El Segundo, CA offices. Areas of expertise may include Systems, Propulsion, Avionics, Structural, Digital, Software, and Manufacturing Engineering, Mission Assurance, or Launch Operations.
  • Plan, coordinate, participate, facilitate Engineering Review Boards, provide risk assessments and technical recommendations.
  • Perform systems engineering functions such as requirements definition, design review, test review, pedigree, hardware acceptance, verification, operations, and post-flight analyses.
  • Prepare Customer team for, and directly support, rehearsals and launch operations, including the anomaly resolution process. Perform technical and engineering data management, such as data mining and reporting.
  • Collaborate with The Aerospace Corporation (Aerospace), Launch Vehicle Contractors (LVCs), Launch Sites, and production factories, as needed.
  • Prepare weekly and other written evaluations and reports of a technical nature.
  • Serve as authority in your technical specialization, support USSF customers in the preparation for and execution of Chief Engineer briefings, Weekly Status Reviews, and other SSC processes.
  • Independence, initiative, dedicated, collaborative, proactive problem solving and customer support. Sound judgment, decision-making, and collaboration with multiple agencies and personnel.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical) or STEM field.
  • 10+ years systems engineering, technical program management, or other related experience with at least three years of AATS, Launch/Range, Department of Defense, National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), or industry equivalent launch or space systems project engineering experience.
