Job Description 

ICF is seeking an experienced accounting professional to serve as Manager, Corporate General Ledger.  This position is located at our headquarters in Reston, VA and will report to the Director, Corporate General Ledger.  The individual will manage four direct reports and oversee prepaids, bank recs, energy incentives, lease accounting and fixed assets during the monthly close process while in compliance with ICF policies, deadlines and US GAAP. This position will be a key resource in the ongoing development of the Company’s processes and policies. 

 

This position will be hybrid working in the Reston office. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations. 

• Provide oversight and monitoring of ICF close to ensure deliverables are achieved by published deadlines. 

• Collaborate across transactional and various GL accounting teams to help facilitate consistency in application of accounting policies, practices and underlying controls. 

• Track recurring or continuing issues, and coordinate with various individuals to ensure timely resolution of identified issues. 

• Promote process improvement initiatives to achieve additional efficiencies in routine duties to streamline processing. 

• Manage four direct reports including providing timely feedback, effective communication, and general oversight of their work. 

• Maintain up-to-date process documentation and procedures for all tasks; recommend and implement process improvements, as appropriate, to simplify, standardize and streamline efforts. 

• Prepare monthly flux analysis. 

Basic Qualifications: 

• 7+ years of hands on experience with general ledger accounting in a global environment 

• 3+ years of experience managing a team 

• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP 

• High proficiency in MS Excel 

Preferred Skills/Experience: 

• BA/BS in Accounting/CPA preferred  

• Experience with Deltek Costpoint and Cognos is preferred  

• Ability to operate effectively with cross-functional teams. 

• Detail oriented with focus on high quality work product. 

• Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines. 

• Ability to work independently and be responsible to follow up on action items. 

• Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills. 

• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities. 

• Strong understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance. 

• Ability to multitask and react to changes in priorities.
