Job Overview
This position reports to The Loan Center Manager and Assistant Loan Center Manager. The Loan Servicing Specialist role is ideal for an individual passionate about member education and assistance. The primary responsibility involves recording the Credit Union's lien interest on consumer collateralized loans through processing state registration, tax, and title documents. This role includes managing title management software to ensure the Credit Union's lien is properly reflected on all collateralized loans. Provide support to all lending departments and process loan servicing requests. Pay Details:
$15.60-$23.40
Qualifications
Skills and Experience
- Education – High School degree or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of operation experience, preferably in the financial industry
- Minimum of 1 year of collateral titling experience preferred
- Perficient in loan and collateral servicing
- Previous credit union experience is preferred
- Understanding of basic financial calculations
- Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal abilities
- Professional phone etiquette, appearance and attitude
- Understanding of financial industry concepts, related laws, and regulations
- Well organized, attention to detail, time management skills
- Must be able to work independently and make sound and accurate decisions
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong multi-tasking, teamwork, focus and sense of urgency
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and web-based applications
Role Description and Essential Duties
- Oversee and administer to include but not limited to Title Management Software, Collateral Protection Insurance (CPI) Software, and Simple Insurance Software. Manage user access to ensure appropriate permissions.
- Gain knowledge and experience in loan and collateral servicing, skip a payment, payment discrepancies, titling, collateral protection insurance, and simple insurance.
- Process loan maintenance including Loan Protection payments, claims, and forced place insurance. Track and manage the establishment of liens with state titling agencies (DMV). Process lien notifications, release of lien interests, and requests for paper titles.
- Process monthly invoices to include but not limited for Titling Lien system, TX DMV, Collateral Protection Insurance system, and Simple Insurance system. Reconcile the general ledger for simple insurance debits and credits.
- Research and address any issues related to title work. Resolve or refer collateral and insurance-related questions, problems, and inquiries.
