About the role
Description
The HR Business Partner is a key hands-on member of the Human Resources team who will support day-to-day HR functions across the organization. This role will primarily focus on recruiting, employee relations, and HR process execution. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this position provides tactical support and serves as a resource to employees and managers throughout the organization.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee relations support, particularly for the manufacturing team, including conflict resolution, performance discussions, and disciplinary action guidance
- Respond to employee questions and requests regarding policy, pay, leave, accommodations, and workplace concerns in a timely, solution-oriented manner
- Conduct and document internal investigations, escalate as needed, and support corrective action processes in collaboration with leadership
- Partner closely with department managers and supervisors to understand business needs, build trust, and proactively address workforce issues
- Lead full-cycle recruiting efforts, including screening applicants, managing job postings, coordinating interviews, and working with third-party recruiters when applicable
- Coordinate and manage onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a smooth employee experience
- Support HR processes across multiple locations, including manufacturing sites, corporate offices, and Canadian operation, including involvement in terminations, employee engagement, accommodations, and policy adherence
- Assist with managing and tracking workplace injuries and workers’ compensation claims
- Collaborate on HR initiatives such as employee engagement, policy updates, and compliance-related activities
- Partner with the HRIS and payroll analyst to recommend enhancements, ensure data accuracy, and support process improvements within Paylocity and other HR systems; serve as a liaison between field needs and system functionality
Requirements
Education: Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
Qualifications &Skills:
- 5–8 years of progressive HR experience in a generalist or HRBP capacity
- Experience in manufacturing or technical environments strongly preferred
- Strong working knowledge of employee relations best practices and employment law
- Prior experience managing recruiting processes across varied job functions
- Paylocity or similar HRIS experience a plus
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- High attention to detail and organizational skills
- Experience supporting employees across multiple U.S. states; familiarity with Canadian employment practices a strong plus
- Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion
- Confident decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR) preferred
