Purpose: Responsible for aiding on all credit-related activities including the completion of credit presentations, client presentations and pitches, performing due diligence, reivewing documentation, and monitoring compliance and industry trends. Work closely with the Associates/Associate Directors to support the Directors/MDs in managing client relationships in the industry sector. Contribute to the overall success of the team ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensure all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.  

 

What You’ll Do 

  • Champion a client centric focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge to deliver solutions that Scotiabank can provide across its footprint and generate revenue.  Relationship management and cross collaboration includes:
    • Coordinating with the various product groups and industry team within GBM
    • Developing and maintaining effective industry relationships with other lenders, legal counsel, clients
  • Provide day to day account management support, which includes:
    • Structuring, analyzing, and performing due diligence on transactions that vary in complexity
    • Developing recommendations for the appropriate course of action
    • Analyzing, processing, and executing credit requests
    • Researching credit and bank product requirements of existing and prospective clients
    • Ensuring credit files, agreements, and security documents are complete and up to date
    • Monitoring and following up for client compliance
  • Assisting with the preparation of marketing pitches
  • Actively contribute to a high performance and inclusive work environment


What You’ll Bring 

  • Undergraduate or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Financial modelling skills and accounting knowledge
  • Strong computer skills including the use of MS Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Superior organization skills
  • Maintain a professional approach in all client interactions
  • High attention to detail with a sense of urgency appropriate to the situation
  • Strong time management skills and driven to achieve timelines and goals
  • Obtain and maintain required FINRA registration and licensing appropriate to y
