Utopia Home Care is a Medicare certified, state licensed, medical home care agency that provides in-home nursing, therapy, and home health aide services throughout Connecticut.  We have been family owned and operated since 1983 and currently serve over 1400 clients throughout the state!

Utopia Home Care is searching for a Director of Clinical Services to lead our clinical team! The Corporate Director of Patient Services is a registered professional nurse who is approved by the Board of Directors to organize and direct the Agency’s clinical services. It is the general objective of this position to ensure the quality and safe delivery of patient care services in all locations within which the agency provides services.

Report to: Administrator / Vice President

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily territory operations ensuring the delivery of high quality care.
  • Assists in planning the overall development and administration of the agency as set forth in the policies and procedures relating to the agency.
  • Participates in planning, development, administration, and evaluation of the Agency services as set forth in the policies and procedures relating to the Agency.
  • Takes a leadership role in policy development and revision as related to administrative as well as clinical practice and procedures.
  • Directs implementation of clinical practice models and procedures that reflect elements essential to rendering high quality care.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of organization’s the Performance Improvement Program.
  • Knowledge of compliance with regard to the Department of Health, accrediting organizations, individual contracts, and all other appropriate local, state and federal agencies.
  •  Participates in selection and supervision of competent, qualified clinical administrative
  •  Provides leadership in promoting and maintaining standards for provision of quality care by all members of the patient care team.
  •  Participates with members of the Business Development Team to identify and development opportunities to increase community exposure and enhance access to care.
  •  Establishes and participates in committees both internal and external to facilitate and attain the objectives of the agency.
  •  Reviews policies and procedures relevant to patient care ongoing and at a minimum presents policies for approval / re-approval by the Board of Directors.
  •  Participates in selection of candidates for the PI / PAC committees.
  •  Promotes staff development by taking a leadership role in development and implementation of orientation and staff education programs across the agency,
  •  Identifies leadership potential and offers opportunities for leadership training and development.
  • Managing the development and implementation of departmental policies and establishing rapport with and between departments so they can see the importance of their contributions to the agency/branch.
  • Supervision of assigned clinical personnel in the delivery of service to patients.
  • Ensure that branches operate in an efficient and profitable manner.
  • Implement systems to improve overall branch management.
  • Establishes methods of communication between all disciplines.
  • Supervises and teaches in order to improve practice within the agency.
