About the role

Fluidra is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineerto join our team in Carlsbad, CA. WHAT YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer with 7+ years of experience that is familiar with plastic part design and hydraulic principles. This is an in-person role at our Carlsbad, CA office. The ideal candidate will have experience designing commercial and/or OEM products with injection molded plastic components, be familiar with manufacturing and production line environments, and have a customer focus mindset. Additionally, you will:

Collaborate with our product managers and applications engineering team to design commercial and OEM products for the spa industry.
To be the key project leader in new product development
Responsible for the success of new product development programs including product design, features, durability, performance and launch timing.
Work with suppliers to ensure project goals are met.
Develop and document test plans, oversee testing and product qualification activities
Some domestic and international travel is required for visiting customers and supporting manufacturing activities. Travel rarely exceeds 3 weeks per year.

WHAT WE SEEK

7+ years of applicable experience
Expertise in SolidWorks 3D CAD modeling software
Experience working with international contract manufacturers
Plastics part design experience
Familiarity with hydraulics (water flow, nozzles, line restrictions, seal design, etc.)
