Department Description:

The Career and Professional Development (CPD) office assists students and alumni through all aspects of the career process, from academic major exploration to internship and job search strategies - and graduate school applications. CPD works with students in individual appointments, in classroom presentations and workshops - and hosts career-related events.

Job Description:

The Marketing Assistant will function as a pivotal liaison between CPD leadership,  staff, and the HPU community, tasked with amplifying the visibility of CPD office events, resources, and services. This role involves strategic planning and promotion of the office through various communication channels, with a particular emphasis on social media. As a student employee, you will leverage your strong verbal and written communication capabilities, in addition to your analytical and creative skills – all of which are essential for effectively marketing CPD and targeting different audiences for results - within the HPU community.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to help promote the office’s services, resources, and events
  • Create engaging and results-based content for social media platforms, newsletters, and other marketing materials
  • Conduct research and analyze trends; propose opportunities for growth
  • Support the planning and execution of high visibility events and strategic, campus-wide campaigns
  • Collaborate with team on all aspects of marketing and communications, from conceptualization and production to measurement and execution
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

Rising sophomore, junior or senior who has completed at least one internship and has an interest in assisting students with career exploration through the marketing of Career and Professional Development offerings.

  • Demonstrated project management experience
  • Attention to detail and follow through 
  • Approachable, proactive, and patient approach to working with others
  • Creative, analytical and strategic thinker with a positive work ethic
  • Able to work 6-10 hours per week
