The nurse administrator is responsible for the overall management and coordination of functions within a division of Nursing. The nurse administrator holds the accountability to manage within the context of the organization as a whole, and to transform organizational values into daily operations yielding an efficient, effective, and caring organization. This includes management of designated clinical nursing practice and management of programs, systems, and services that are evidence based and support the clinical practice of nursing. Responsibilities are accomplished based on Mayo and Department of Nursing's vision, mission, and values. The nurse administrator is responsible to develop, implement, maintain, and evaluate policies, programs, and services related to assigned functions. The nurse administrator participates in assessing the environment, forecasting trends, transmitting values, communicating ideas, coaching and mentoring others, managing resources, and assuring that core values are implemented.
This role is eligible for TN sponsorship. Holders of F1 status eligible for post-completion OPT are welcome to apply. This role is NOT eligible to participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program. Successful sponsorship will require state licensure and completion of the VisaScreen or equivalent certification.
Master's degree in Nursing or a Bachelor's degree in Nursing with a Master's degree in business or a health-related field. Will consider applicants meeting all other qualifications who commit to degree completion within six months from application date. Candidates who meet the baccalaureate degree in nursing requirement, but have not yet obtained a Masters degree may be considered for an interim role. Minimum of three years in nursing service administration with management responsibilities.
Previous experience in clinical practice role. Doctoral Degree – DNP or PhD in Nursing preferred.
Current RN license or current license deemed acceptable by the applicable State Board of Nursing. Additional state licensure(s) and/or specialty certification/training as required by the work area.
