The Friends of Semel is seeking to hire a part time Student Worker 3. This position provides an opportunity to work with the Friends of the Semel Institute, a support group for UCLA’s Semel Institute that produces the Open Mind, a lecture and film series that is open to the public at no charge and brings together scientists, researcher, clinicians, authors, and filmmakers to discuss issues that pertain to mental health and mental illness. The student will provide administrative assistance for the Open Mind Film Festival for High School Students. They will also assist the Executive Director with the maintenance of the database and other office work.

Pay Range: $18.00 - $38.50 hourly

  • Must be a current UCLA Student (Preference given to Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors).
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise good organization and work habits required. 
  • Computer skills to perform data entry using a PC required. Computer literacy is a must. 
  • Ability to shift priorities and adapt to change required.
  • Ability to work independently and to take direction required.
  • Skill in writing legible, concise and grammatically correct documentation in Standard English required.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate effectively over the phone.
