Job Description:

The Senior IT Manager – Data/Information Management manages and/or leads a team of technology Data Analysts / Data Specialists responsible for the build, design, development, testing, execution, and quality assurance of Data / Information Management solutions ensuring effective integration and processes are in place across the enterprise. Role may also be a technical expert within a specialized data management field responsible for providing team leadership and building out Data / Information Management organizational capabilities.

This role will lead enterprise data transformation initiatives, focusing on robust data management and engineering to enable high-quality, scalable solutions. Responsibilities include designing, developing, and executing data solutions on the Microsoft Azure Cloud Platform, while overseeing the migration of on-premise Informatica data pipelines to the Databricks Cloud platform. Leading a team of Data Analysts and Data Specialists, the Senior IT Manager will drive data quality, seamless integration, and automation for data warehousing and advanced analytics. With deep expertise in cloud and on-premises data ecosystems (Azure, Databricks, Informatica, Oracle, SQL), this role will play a critical part in large-scale data programs, cloud migration, and data governance while enabling advanced data engineering and analytics for financial crime prevention. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and technical direction to accelerate TD’s data-driven transformation.

Depth & Scope:

  • Deep understanding and hands-on experience implementing a Big Data stack (e.g. Hadoop)
  • Complete understanding and expertise with Data warehouse technologies including Database Management Systems, BI Tools and ETLs
  • Strong knowledge of when to use traditional vs big data solutions
  • Extensive experience in leading and designing complex data-intensive applications
  • Extensive functional and technical knowledge of advanced analytics processes (building automated processes for data acquisition and analysis), systems and methods for prevention, detection and management of financial crimes
  • Senior role requiring significant people management experience and specialized knowledge of advanced data analytics within the context of a global bank


Education & Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate
  • Graduate degree, preferred
  • 10+ years related experience

Preferred qualifications:

  • 10+ years of IT development experience, with a focus on data architecture, data solutions, and cloud technologies
  • 5+ years leading data warehouse, ETL, and cloud migration projects
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Databricks and Azure Cloud implementation
  • Proven track record in building scalable, high-performance data solutions
  • Experience implementing data platforms for financial crime prevention and AML compliance
  • Strong understanding of risk and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Ability to translate complex data challenges into strategic business solutions
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Cloud Technologies: Microsoft Azure (Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks)
  • Data Governance & Quality: Strong hands-on experience with data lineage tracking, and governance frameworks
  • Databases & SQL: Expert knowledge of Oracle, SQL, and data warehouse modeling
  • Banking Domain and / or AML & FCRM experience
