MMC-Memorial Medical CenterPosition Overview:
Provides breastfeeding assistance and childbirth education programs to all applicable patients. Facilitates lactation education, resources and support to patients and healthcare providers including nurses, mid-wives, physicians, educators, and social service personnel ensuring services provided are consistent with organizational policies, applicable research and current standards. Delivers individual and classroom lactation education as needed. Evaluates specific lactation problems by telephone and develops a management and follow-up plan of care when indicated.Job Description:
EDUCATION:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:
- RN-Registered Nurse of California
- CLC-Certified Lactation Consultant
- OR IBLCE-Certified Lactation Consultant
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
DEPARTMENT REQUIRED CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE
- Department, MMC Family Birthing Center: NRP-Neonatal Resuscitation Provider
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
- 2 years recent relevant experience
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Maternal-infant assessment skills.
- Organizational skills with ability to prioritize, problem solve and meet deadlines.
- Interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to gather data to complete reports on a timely basis.
- Written and verbal interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.

Pay Range is $71.74 to $93.97 / hourThe compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health’s comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.
