Hennepin County District Court is seeking a knowledgeable and highly motivated Forensic Case Manager to provide exceptional support to the Fourth Judicial District Clinical Forensic Psychologists in the Regional Psychological Services Division.
The Forensic Case Manager is responsible for providing technical administrative assistance and case coordination to the Clinical Forensic Psychologists in the Regional Psychological Services (RPS) division of the Minnesota Judicial Branch. This role will function as part of a close team that works together to process all incoming referrals made to Regional Psychological Services. The case management team facilitates the completion of evaluations through researching and coordinating case information and records; managing case-related communications with stakeholders with the goal of enhancing departmental efficiency; using forensic knowledge and independent judgment to identify missing clinical information and data sources; and engaging in independent problem solving to locate necessary clinical information and facilitate the timely completion of evaluations.
This AFSCME-Represented position is classified as a Staff Generalist I, with a working title of Forensic Case Manager. The Psychological Services Division is located on the fifth floor of the Hennepin County Government Center at 300 South 6th Street, C-509, Minneapolis, MN 55487. This is a hybrid role, working both on-site and remotely, depending on business needs with typical hours between 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday – Friday. A reliable internet connection will be required if working remotely.

Example of Duties

- Accurately complete administrative work in an office environment by performing high level referral processing, case related research and case management for the Psychological Services Division
- Provide excellent customer service and case related support by assisting and communicating with examiners, the court, stakeholders and examinees in a professional, courteous, and respectful manner to ensure psychological evaluations are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Coordinate, communicate, and collaborate with team members to ensure daily work assignments, evaluations, and special projects are completed efficiently and accurately.
- Contacting defendants ordered to undergo a psychological evaluation, or caretakers on their behalf, for the purpose of scheduling a court-ordered forensic interview and gather preliminary information while addressing any questions or concerns
- Complete the intake process for court orders through Examiner Resource Application (ERA), including verification of accuracy and completeness
- Effectively communicate with potentially distressed, hostile or psychiatrically ill defendants to resolve questions or provide information relevant to the purpose of the evaluation
- Utilize conflict de-escalation as needed according to department procedure, with the support of examiner staff when necessary

Minimum Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college, university OR a combination of equivalent education and experience

- Demonstrated initiative and self-directed completion of work upon knowledge of expectations and goals
- Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure and work in a high volume, fast-paced work environment
- Demonstrated ability to exercise judgment and discretion in applying and interpreting administrative policies, procedures, guidelines and regulations
