We also help merchants connect with their customers, process exchanges and returns, and manage risk. We enable consumers to engage in cross-border shopping and merchants to extend their global reach while reducing the complexity and friction involved in enabling cross-border trade.

PayPal, Inc. seeks Data Scientist 1 in San Jose, CA
Job Duties: Perform deep dive analyses on key business trends and generate insights. Engage in problem solving with Risk, Product, Marketing, and various other teams to determine performance trends and root causes. Support new product experiments by establishing test and control plans and ensuring constant monitoring is in place to track product performance. Set up measurement framework for new feature launches and other strategic initiatives. Create close relationships with stakeholders to anticipate and answer questions that might be asked by business units. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in statistics, analytics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering or a related field plus three years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Special Skill Requirements:
1. Experience with relational database, and big data structure
2. Advanced SQL experience, big query analytics (Google cloud), and query performance optimization
3. Proficiency in reporting tools like Tableau and/or Excel to share analysis
4. Proficiency in statistical programming language as Python, R, SAS
5. Experience in design, execute the A/B testing to generate actionable insights from the data
6. Experience with payment, ecommerce or financial services industry

Salary: $180,128.00-259,600.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
