Shift Schedule:

• Monday-Friday: Dependent on route, average 4 days per week.
• Start Times: 3:00 am – 4:00 am (dependent on route)
• End Times: 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm (until the route has been completed)
• Routes will not exceed DOT hours.  
• Weekend work may be required based on business needs.
• Minimum of 1 overnight layover route per week. (potentially two, as schedule fluctuates) 

 

Job Purpose and Overview

To complete daily routes as assigned in a productive manner while adhering to all Dawn Food Products safety guidelines. Rotate customer’s stock purchased from Dawn Food Products and provide courteous, professional service to all our customers. Maintain proper paperwork according to D.O.T. guidelines and Dawn Food Products procedures. Accurate delivery on all product with minimal to no damage to freight or equipment with low to zero invoice error ratio. Maintain a high level of professional communication with the teams from customer service, sales, and warehouse.

 

What Does It Take to be a Lead Driver at Dawn Foods?  

Below are the minimum qualifications to be a fit for this job.   

• Class “A” CDL License in good standing

• Minimum of 5 years of Class A Commercial driving experience
• Ability to work in the United States
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Must be able to lift 50+ pounds consistently throughout work shift
• Ability to operate MHE equipment
• Experience delivering into food service accounts is preferred
• Lift-gate, reefer, electric pallet jack and forklift experience helpful
• Computer skills or experience with electronic logs helpful

 

 

What will you do as a CDL Class A Driver at Dawn Foods? 

• Obey all federal, state, and local rules and regulations of the road including all DOT operating, recording and safe food handling procedures
• Conduct daily face to face interaction with customers, representing Dawn Foods in a friendly, competent, and professional manner
• In a DSD (direct store delivery) setting, break down product and complete shelf stacking at each stop
• Driving and maintaining multi-temp trailers
• Offloading with electric pallet jacks/two wheelers
