Position Description & RequirementsPosition Summary
Miami Vascular Specialist is a nationally renowned practice, serving the largest health care system in the Miami area and South Florida for 60 years. MVS partners with the Baptist Health System including Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute. As a leader in Cardiac & Vascular specialties, MVS and MCVI provide patients with comprehensive care across all the locations throughout the health system.
We are currently seeking a PRN Physician Assistant (PA) to work in collaboration with a team of Vascular Surgeons and fellow Advance Practice Providers. The candidate assists in providing services in a hospital practice setting, such services include but not be limited to:
- Primary role is to be an Advanced Practice Provider/substitute for minor procedures
- Assist in the performance of direct patient care services, including inpatient consults and inpatient rounding.
- Schedule patients for procedures including pre-authorizations, work with other facilities to coordinate procedures as needed, process orders, sending reports back to referring doctors.
- Perform physical examinations, determine medical histories, diagnose and treat illness and/or injuries.
- Order and interpret laboratory and radiographic studies
- Perform or assist procedures
- Develop and implement patient management plans and record progress notes
- Perform history and physical examinations of patients
- Field phone calls from patients, referring physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals regarding patients to identify potential areas of concern in the medical management of the patients
- Educate patients on their medical care
- Other duties as assigned
We are looking for a hard-working, bright and responsible individual who is willing to learn. They must be able to work full-time weekdays, equitable weekends, some holidays, and be able to take call (call is compensated separately). Spanish speaking is a plus, but not a requirement. We offer a competitive base salary which can be enhanced by taking call in the hospital, generous PTO, full complement of benefits including health insurance and 401k.
