Are you a skilled Orientation & Mobility specialist? Have you worked with individuals experiencing vision loss or barriers to independent living? If so, we are looking for you here at the Eugene office for the Oregon Commission for the Blind! Home to the University of Oregon, Eugene has a vibrant arts community and is known as Track Town USA; hosting national and international track and field events. Eugene is in the southern Willamette Valley of western Oregon, 60 miles east of the Pacific Ocean and about the same distance west of the Cascade Mountains. The Willamette Valley is also Oregon’s leading wine region and recognized as one of the world’s premier Pinot Noir producing areas.
As a Rehabilitation Instructor for the Blind, you will report to the Director of Independent Living of the Oregon Commission for the Blind (OCB.) This position is one of nine Rehabilitation Instructors in the Independent Living Department as a whole, and one of four OCB staff working from the Eugene office.
