Job Summary

Under supervision of the Principal Investigator, performs duties specific to the TROOP Trial as directed by the study staff.

Education/Experience

Background in emergency medicine or similar field or current enrollment as pre-med or pre-PA, or paramedic preferred

Citi Certification in Basic Human Research

Certification in Good Clinical Practices

Skills/Qualifications

  • Knowledge of scientific principles including Human Subjects Research and Good Clinical Practices
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work in fast paced environment

Experience Gained

  1. Exposure to emergency department, operating rooms and interventional radiology
  2. Teamwork with other medical staff including attendings, residents, nurses, and pharmacists
  3. Clinical exposure and direct interaction with patients and families
  4. Experience navigating the electronic medical record
  5. Increased knowledge of medical terminology

Essential Functions

  1. Takes intermittent call in 12 hr shifts to respond to Level 1 Trauma pages
  2. Responds to Level 1 trauma page activations under direction of the study team.
  3. Performs/assists with data collection and initial determination of inclusion or exclusion into the study under the direction of the study team/clinical study coordinator.

Performs specific tasks related to study protocol.

Pay Range

$18.50 - $27.75
