Responsibilities
- Administrates and executes all estimating activities, processes, and deliverables for the Business Unit (BU)
- Engages in estimating peer groups and communication with sr estimating manager peers across the enterprise on process improvements and resource sharing
- Possesses and utilizes industry contacts with subcontractors, designers, and owners to advance BU market strategy
- Utilizes market relationships and resources to collect and utilize market cost and supply chain information; engages with our supply chain team to provide regular input as requested for the quarterly surveys
- Identifies and mitigates project costing risks throughout the design phase of the project including building appropriate contingency and allowance strategies on all projects
- Schedules department estimating and deliverables while balancing workload accordingly
- Manages the department to ensure multiple duties and responsibilities are executed by all staff members; Communicates with operations staff to plan work schedules
- Identifies and communicates risks and outcomes affecting the BU
- Leads the BU strategic planning process relating to estimating
- Manages workload and performance of direct reports, ensuring alignment with overall company standards
- Informs the BU leader of risks, activities, progress, and problems as it pertains to estimating activities
- Responsible for the career development and coaching of team members
- Fosters a positive and inclusive work environment to motivate and engage team members
- Interprets and translates the organizational strategy, ensuring team understanding of their role in accomplishing strategic goals
- May be required to assist with tasks typically assigned to more junior positions
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management
- 15-20+ years relevant experience
- Experience with K-12 Education, Higher Ed, Healthcare, Sp
