The Role

We are seeking an Associate HR Business Partner to join our Human Resources team. This role will report to the Associate Director, HR Business Partner.

In this role, you will support the Enabling Services and Strategy teams, comprised of approximately 170 employees across Finance, Legal, HR, and Strategy functions. This is a critical role that will work closely with leaders and employees to deliver HR solutions that align with business goals and enhance the employee experience.

We are looking for candidates in the Chicagoland area who can work a hybrid schedule (two days in the office and three remote).


 

Key Responsibilities:

  • HR Generalist Support: Assist with day-to-day inquiries on people-related requests including:
    • Talent Strategy: Partner with the Director, Human Resources and business leaders to develop and implement talent strategies that support business objectives.
    • Compensation and Benefits: Answer inquiries and assist in the delivery of compensation and benefits, including the annual compensation planning process.
    • Performance Management: Support the performance review process by providing guidance on goal setting, performance feedback, and development plans.
    • Learning and Development (L&D): Support L&D and leadership development processes, assisting with selection of program participants and offering guidance to business leaders on function-specific development programs.
    • Employee Engagement: Analyze employee engagement survey data and help define and deliver strategies to enhance employee engagement.
    • Employee Relations: Assist with employee relations issues, providing guidance to managers and employees to resolve conflicts and improve workplace dynamics.
    • Workday: Execute HR processes within Workday (i.e., employee transfers, manager changes, leave, offer letters, promotions, terminations, etc.)
  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with leaders and employees across the organization, becoming a trusted advisor to the business.
  • Project Management: Own project planning and execution of moderate-size projects (example: a continuous improvement project aimed at making a core HR process or task more effective/efficient)
  • Collaboration: Partner across the HR function to help define and deliver HR processes that provide value across the organization.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize HR metrics and analytics to inform decision-making and provide insights into workforce trends.


 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of relevant experience in an HR function  
  • Strong understanding of HR principles and processes, including talent management, employee relations, compensation and benefits, and compliance
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships
  • Highly organized, with ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems (preferably Workday) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
