1st shift Paint Lead - Silent-Aire

• Ensure crew arrives on time, ready, and fit for duty at the start of each shift.
• Host a start of shift meeting with crew at start of shift to delegate work for the shift.
• Review any job related issues or safety concerns.
• Ensure workers have proper material and tools to complete daily tasks.
• Train new employees in job duties.
• Ensure workers are wearing proper PPE and working in a safe manner.
• Ensure quality of work is maintained to a high standard.
• Resolve any work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and quality of work.
• Ensure workers adhere to company rules, policies and procedures.
• Ensure workers are following scheduled break times.
• Communicate any safety or policy violations to Production Manager in a prompt manner.
• Review all drawings in order to fully understand scope of work.
• Understand sequence of operation.
• Co-ordinate daily tasks with other Team Leads and Production Supervisors to ensure clear lines of communication.
• Assist in inventory management of material and consumables to ensure continuous flow of work.
• Maintain prints and drawings, accurately redline changes.
• Tend and operate to equipment used to spray or coat products
• Tend and operate to equipment used to apply protective or decorative coats
• Prepare and apply stencils, decals, and other decorative items on the finished product
• Read and interpret blueprints
• Inspect surfaces for contamination prior to application of paint
• Apply high-performance protective coatings to metal surfaces, fabricated parts, assemblies and structures
• Knowledge of chemical application techniques
• Paint using one or a combination of: spray, brush, and rolls
• Selecting and mixing the appropriate paint
• Clean equipment and perform routine maintenance when necessary
• Comply with company policies and procedures, especially health and safety rules, use of personal protective equipment and WHMIS
• Completing required paperwork and maintaining accurate record keeping.
• Set goals and manage time efficiently.
• Demonstrate effective leadership skills, team building skills and the ability to supervise and motivate effectively.
• Perform all duties in accordance with Silent Aire safety program standards.
• Maintain departmental organization, ensure 5s tasks are completed per schedule
• Other duties as assigned

• It is very important that the incumbent of this position is able to work and communicate with prudence while effectively managing time, completing tasks, and working safely.

• Experience with all safe practices, procedures, and overall processes associated with manufacturing from raw materials to finished product.
• Critical eye for identifying defects.
• Knowledge of appropriate materials, methods, and the tools required in various assembly processes.
• Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
• Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.
• Must be able to carry and move equipment and/or supplies in excess of 40 pounds.
