About the role
As a Lease Accounting Associate, your number one priority is to ensure that we pay our rents on time and accurately! In addition, you will reconcile all lease-related payments to the underlying lease agreements. Not only will you be collaborating with the lease accounting team, you will also work closely with landlords, Real Estate Legal and Store Operations management.
This role operates on a hybrid schedule and will require to work from our HQ located in the City of Industry, CA two days a week.
Pay range is $25/hr - $26.50/hr.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Promptly and accurately processes monthly rent payments
- Reconciles all rental charges to ensure compliance with underlying lease agreements
- Reports sales to landlords on a monthly basis
- Updates rent details in Lucernex, our lease management program, in order to process weekly rent payments
- Verifies occupancy accounts (CAM, utilities, etc.)
- Evaluates and challenges periodic occupancy cost increases as invoiced by landlords
- Prepares journal entries for rent, CAM, and other occupancy costs; calculates month-end accruals for percentage rents and any other lease-related liabilities
- Audits year-end CAM and real estate tax statements to verify lease compliance
- Assists other departments by generating reports
- Supports annual financial statement and internal control audits by providing requested support to auditors
- Works closely with the team on special projects and ad hoc requests as needed
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance plus at least one year of experience working in an accounting role, or a combination of education with equivalent work experience
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook; experience with Lucernex, Lawson, and Blackline are a plus
- Strong math and analytical skills. Accuracy and attention to detail
- Basic knowledge of real estate concepts and lease terminology
- Demonstrates a dedication to meeting requirements of internal and external partners, responding to all landlord requests promptly and thoroughly
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume position
- Strong communication skills including ability to work in a team environment
