Annual Salary: $73,912.80 plus competitive area differential (CAD)of $2,475.20
Paid Bi-Weekly

The FDVA Nursing State Veterans’ Nursing Homes and Domiciliary are designated employment sites for the Nursing Student Loan Forgiveness Program.
- From funds available, the program may make nursing education loan repayments of up to $4,000.00 per year, per nurse enrolled in the program, for a maximum of four years.
- Payment is made at the end of each 12-month enrollment period and made directly to the participant’s lender.
- Enrollment and payment of awards is based on available funds.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in accordance with Florida Statute 464 or eligible to practice nursing in accordance with Florida Administrative Code 210-8.27
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in nursing or a related field AND two years of nursing experience. A Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in nursing, nursing education, public health, or a related field may substitute for one year of the nursing experience. (Professional nursing experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.)
- Must have excellent computer skills.
- Must be available on weekends, holidays and on-call.
- Successful completion of the employment screening process to include, but not limited to, a national background investigation and drug test.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in a long-term health care environment.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The selected candidate will be responsible for emphasizing the prevention and management of infections. The Nursing Program Specialist/Infection Preventionist will establish goals and priorities for the Infection Control Prevention and Control Program and plan and implement strategies to achieve those goals, monitoring the implementation of the program (including the disciplinary team’s infection control practices), and responding to errors, problems, or other identified issues. In the absence of the DON, the incumbent is responsible for the nursing operations of the facility.
