About the role
Description
Strategic responsibility for planning, directing and evaluating all short and long range programs related to organizational development and staff education within Iredell Health System. Plans, directs and supervises operational functions such as staffing, orientation, leadership development, staff education and competency, student clinical rotations and instructor/student orientation.
Requirements
Essential Responsibilities
- Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs and staff development initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and internal policies.
- Develop and implement education-related policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Manage departmental budgets and allocate resources effectively.
- Evaluate program outcomes and recommend improvements to enhance effectiveness and engagement.
- Partner with the VP of Nursing, directors, and managers to develop system-wide training strategies and foster a positive learning environment for clinical and non-clinical staff.
- Oversee and maintain all education and competency records, including the Learning Management System (LMS).
- Support leadership development and onboarding programs to enhance retention and performance.
- Promote alignment with Iredell Health System’s mission, vision, and values in all educational initiatives.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a related field required.
- Active professional licensure in the State of North Carolina, if applicable (e.g., Registered Nurse must hold an active NC nursing license).
- Minimum of 2–3 years of leadership experience in staff education or organizational development.
- Prior teaching or instructional experience preferred (in academic or professional settings).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, work within budget constraints, and collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
- Ability to apply creative and innovative approaches to organizational challenges.
Physical Requirements
- Must possess the full range of body motion to successfully complete a basic FIT test, including bending, stooping, standing, and sitting for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
