DESCRIPTION:

This position is responsible for server, desktop and network support which includes installing, configuring, and supporting local area networks (LAN) and the wide area network (WAN).  This position maintains all computer hardware and software, laptops, and network equipment at multiple sites in the Central Region.  This position is also responsible for monitoring the network to ensure network availability to all system users and will perform necessary maintenance to support network availability.  Incumbents may also assist other support staff to plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures. 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Cloud Computing

Lead on developing, administering, and testing of agency cloud services.

Liaison with third party vendors on matters of computing.

Assist with group policies and scripting for the enterprise infrastructure network.

Coordinate technical work of Network Project teams in systems planning studies; information needs assessments and systems analysis, reviewing approaches and methods to assess effectiveness in meeting management objectives.

 

Infrastructure Planning and Design (Technical architect for a statewide-distributed client/server information technologies)

Assist in the design, planning, and implementation of Web, SharePoint, local area networks, and related personal computers for the department's information system.

Serves as a consult to the Chief of Information Technology to evaluate and provide information system requirements and necessary resources.

 

Capacity and Systems Planning in support of Information Systems

Support and troubleshoot technical work supporting the Microsoft Exchange Messaging Services (Office 365) for the Department.

Serve as backup for coordinating of the Microsoft Windows Software update Services.

Help coordinate and administer Virtual Private Network (VPN) services.

Establish system priorities and allocation of available resources and capacity for IT.

Analyze agency data requirements and effects of interactive computer-oriented systems.

Serve as consult to higher lever manages in the planning of major systems.
