Terran Orbital is seeking an experienced Sr. FPGA Design Engineer to join our growing team. Reporting to the Vice President of Components and Modules the Sr. FPGA Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing FPGA solutions within various subsystems of our Satellite bus platforms. This role is also responsible for design, analysis and verification of FPGA within the Components and Modules group.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Design, development, and verification of FPGA-based solutions.
- Work with systems, hardware, and software teams to define requirements and specifications for FPGA implementations.
- Participate as needed in customer meetings and coordinate with other Functional Managers and team leads to define and refine FPGA/Firmware requirements.
- Track all deliverables, prepare and present formal and informal design and progress reviews to executive team and our customers.
- Analyze requirements and create project scope and milestones for FPGA and Firmware development and support tasks.
- Identify opportunities for new development to improve ground segment capabilities in support of internal and external customers.
Requirements
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering.
- 5 or more years of professional experience with firmware development.
- Experience with System-Verilog, Verilog, C/C++, MatLab / Simulink, System Verilog languages; Synopsis Synplify, Synopsis VCS, Vivado, Xcelium, ChipScope tool sets desired.
- Experience with Xilinx/AMD (Versal, Ultrascale+) and MicroSemi/Microchip (PolarFire) part families internal FPGA fabric and IP.
- Experience with standard lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and signal generators.
- Experienced in digital telemetry, signal processing, and encryption technology.
- The ability to travel as necessary.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Salary Range $130,000-$160,000
Your actual level and base salary will be determined case-by-case and may vary based on the job-related qualification, knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
