Job Description:The Office for Student Financial Aid and Scholarships (SFA) in the Division of Enrollment Management is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Student Financial Aid Coordinator I. In this role, you will play a critical role in verifying and awarding financial aid programs, ensuring that students have access to the resources they need to succeed.
Key responsibilities include:
Federal File Transmission
- Review and monitor federal file transmissions for the Federal Pell Grant and Federal Direct Loan programs.
- Adjust financial aid awards as needed to align with students’ eligibility and requirements.
- Ensure all financial aid processes adhere to federal, state, and institutional regulations.
Student Correspondence
- Communicate with students to gather necessary information for processing financial aid.
- Provide support and guidance to students regarding their financial aid options and status.
- Review and verify student eligibility for various financial aid programs.
Scholarship and Loan Support
- Assist in processing scholarship checks and awarding alternative loans.
- Calculate remaining loan eligibility for students nearing their borrowing limits.
- Evaluate students’ academic programs to determine their eligibility for financial aid.
Other Duties
- Perform other tasks as assigned to support the financial aid office.
- Participate in occasional travel for financial aid presentations and professional development workshops.
This position is located at the University of Florida's main campus in Gainesville, FL and may be eligible for a flexible, hybrid work arrangement in accordance with the University of Florida and Division of Enrollment Management's policies.
Expected Salary:$43,888 annually

Minimum Requirements:Bachelor’s degree; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:- Student financial aid experience preferred.
- Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
