Description
The Vanderbilt Department of Emergency Medicine Regional Team is seeking highly motivated, patient-centered, team-oriented physicians who are board certified in Emergency Medicine to join our expanding and thriving community practice in Middle Tennessee.
Positions are primarily available in two locations:
- Vanderbilt Tullahoma-Harton Hospital (VTHH): A 19 bed emergency department with an annual volume of around 26,000 visits. The hospital has 135 inpatient beds, a 15 bed ICU, a Labor & Delivery unit, Cath lab with STEMI capability, and strong working relationships with a wide variety of specialists to include Urology. Avg pph is approx 1.5-1.8 with 12 hour shifts available
· Vanderbilt Bedford Hospital (VBH): A 14 bed emergency department with an annual volume of around 21,000 visits. The hospital has 60 inpatient beds, an 8 bed ICU, and access to multiple specialists to include Plastics. Avg pph is approx 1.5-1.8 with 12 hour shifts available
Both sites use Epic as the EMR.
All VUMC community sites benefit from strong working relationships with Vanderbilt University Medical Center, with ready access to multiple sub-specialists and streamlined transfer of patients when needed to VUMC and between regional facilities making care and movement convenient for Emergency Physicians and patient's families.
Both sites are convenient to Nashville and many of its desirable suburbs including Franklin, Brentwood, and Murfreesboro, with exemplary schools and a wide variety of outdoor activities.

Positions can be split between the sites above, with potential for engagement in other VUMC sites depending on availability as well as with further expansion and development of our community team. Future sites are projected closer to the Murfreesboro area making this an ideal location for settling community physicians and their families.

Compensation information:
1. Base clinical effort at 1440 Clinical hours per year (120h/mo)
2. Base Salary:
a. New Graduate from residency: $298,800
b. Over 1 year of experience: $313,920
3. Incentive – Eligible for to a 20% bonus on top of base salary above based on team and individual performance (Around 60,000)
4. Benefits (On Top of Base Salary)
a. Full Medical Benefits (Medical, Dental, vision), Disability, life
b. Retirement: Up to a 5% match on a 403(b)
c. Eligible for federal loan forgiveness as a not for profit company
5. Salary increase potential with enterprise cost of living wage adjustments
6. Total Base Compensation between 350-400k per year depending on benefit utilization
7. Estimated Hourly compensation: $245 per hour before incentive and $270 /hr after
