About This Opportunity
We are seeking a Sr. Energy Efficiency Engineer I (Sr Eng I) to join Cascade Energy! The Sr Engineer I will engage with our clients at a high level to assess their operations, identify opportunities, and provide recommendations to maximize energy efficiency and performance in industrial systems. The Sr Engineer takes the lead to consult, gather data, create optimization models of industrial systems, and write feasibility reports for energy efficiency projects while leading overall management of projects. The Sr Engineer I provides mentorship and contributes to peer support and quality control review.
What You Will Be Doing
• Leading, managing, and directing high-profile projects and maintaining accountability on assigned projects
• Calculating energy savings for various system or equipment changes using existing calculation tools, original spreadsheets, and/or generally accepted methodologies
• Engaging with clients at their industrial locations to gain a deep understanding of their equipment and operations, identifying opportunities for energy efficiency, and providing recommendations
• Fostering and growing client relationships and identifying opportunities that may result in generating significant new work from new and existing clients
• Presenting complex technical issues with a diverse audience in a way that facilitates understanding and consensus
• Composing energy efficiency project reports based on analyses and observations
• Maintaining expert knowledge of utility programs and their compliance requirements
• Providing peer mentorship through technical discussions and work review
This is a full-time, exempt position located in the Pleasant Grove, UT area. The team is usually in-office 1 day per week after training is completed. Travel to sites or vendors can be up to 40% however, most travel is same day, with occasional overnight trips. (1 – 4 overnight trips per month possible).
Qualifications
Applicants for this role are required to have:
• Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or a related field of study
• 5 – 8+ yrs of engineering experience
• Expert technical knowledge of refrigeration, compressed air systems, steam systems, custom computer modeling of systems, electrical distribution system design, industrial control and data-logging of system results
• Significant experience with industrial facilities and energy efficiency measures
• Expertise with Excel / Python
A successful candidate should also demonstrate these preferred characteristics and/or skills:
• Experience from Industrial Assessment Centers is a plus

Compensation & Benefits
Our total rewards include competitive pay and excellent benefits. The hiring pay target for this position in Salt Lake City, Utah is $96,800 - $121,000/year. However, the final salary offered may vary depending on non-discriminatory factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experiences, internal equity, and geographical location if different than the above.
