Summary:
The Senior Project Director is responsible for leading, managing, and actively participating in all facets of specified project(s) – from the early development phase to commissioning and turnover. This position provides overall project management and oversight.
What you’ll be contributing:
- Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
- Manages organizational structure of the project, staffing requirements, staff management, deployment, and personnel development.
- Supervises and inspects the work performed by contractors.
- Monitors project budgets, schedules, and work quality.
- Performs field inspections and reports on the project process.
- Establishes a "safety first" culture throughout all efforts managed.
- Supports plant management in planning and preparing capital expenditure proposals and budgets.
- Completes project performance and delivery, including safety and financial performance, client satisfaction, and contractor relationships.
- Ensure project execution methodology/strategy aligns with Ash Grove Cement's business objectives.
- Takes an active role in the development of contracts for the project.
- Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
To succeed in this position, you will need:
- Ability to read, write, and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc
- Minimum 4 Years - Bachelor's Degree in engineering discipline and project services.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in project direction and managing large capital projects.
- Proficient in written English, effective verbal communication, and listening skills
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to make decisions and solve problems with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to effectively negotiate
- Ability to make sound independent judgments regularly
- Ability to interpret complex statistical data
- Ability to analyze facts and to exercise sound judgment in arriving at a conclusion
- Ability to read, write and understand English
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Knowledge of engineering and surveying theories, principles, and techniques, especially those regarding mechanical engineering.
- Knowledge of project and contract management practices.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant software packages.
