Assurance Data Analytics & Emerging Methods - Extractions Senior Associate

As a member of the BDO Advantage Audit Data Analytics & Emerging Methods team, the Data Extraction professional works with our most important resources – our people and our clients - to facilitate data extraction using defined tools, services, methodologies, and workflows for consumption by the BDO analytics platforms.   The Data Extraction professional also participates in the design and development of our solutions.

Job Duties:

Typical responsibilities will include:

• Works with our most valuable resources – our people and our clients - to implement and support data extraction tools and workflows and application of recommended solutions for a variety of general ledger and subledger systems
• Manage the process of identifying and extracting client data based on analytic requirements using data analysis, research, and technical extraction skills.
• Independently engage with client personnel and engagement teams to understand ERP-specific business rules and make extraction design decisions to apply those rules in the extraction.
• Data preparation and routing into the BDO analytics platforms
• Identifies, triages, and resolves support requests
• Establishes and maintains customer satisfaction methods and information

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree, required; focus in Accounting, Accounting Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, preferred

Experience:

• Three (3) or more years of experience with data extraction and transformations, SQL queries, database systems, required
• One (1) or more years of experience with the following Azure data analytics resources, preferred
• Azure Data Factory or Databricks 
• Azure SQL Database 
• Azure Storage Accounts / Data Lakes
• Power BI or Azure Analysis Services or Azure Synapse Analytics
• Two (2) or more years of accounting, audit, finance, or equivalent experience, preferred

License/Certifications:

• Certified Information Systems Analyst certification, preferred

Software:

• Previous experience integrating data from ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Sage Intacct, NetSuite, or QBO using analytics tools like Power BI and Tableau, preferred
• Working knowledge of various ERP systems and accounting packages, preferred
• MS Excel and Power BI data cleansing techniques, preferred
• Ability to write SQL queries and manage large data sets within SQL Server, preferred
