Open Rank Clinical Faculty, Transplant Surgeon, Heart & Lung Donor Surgeon

Description

The Department of Surgery, Divisions of Transplant and Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, seek candidates for an open rank, open track position as a transplant heart and lung procurement surgeon. Rank and tenure status will be dependent upon qualifications.  The incumbent will join a thriving multidisciplinary heart and transplant team and have the opportunity to participate in relevant research, ex vivo perfusion, and/or normothermic regional perfusion, and actively participate in the teaching program with students, residents, and fellows.

Qualifications

Candidates must have an MD or equivalent and be board-certified or board-eligible, have completed relevant cardiothoracic surgery training, have heart and lung procurement experience, and meet qualifications to be approved as a procurement surgeon by our organ procurement organization.
