Who will you be working with?

As the Facility Business Leader, you will collaborate with operational business leaders across the Erie site to support their teams in enhancing productivity for our customers and ensuring employee safety. You will work closely with Supply Chain, Engineering, and IT organizations to meet specific project requirements while maintaining plant standards, adhering to safety regulations, and delivering cost-effective, high-quality solutions. You will have the opportunity to engage with multiple stakeholders from each organization based on business initiatives. Additionally, you will support the Plant Services organization with maintenance activities, facility repairs, and upgrades, as well as develop long-term proposals to enhance infrastructure. You will manage both internal and external resources, including various contractors, suppliers, and engineering firms.

How will you make a difference?

As the Facility Business Leader and a member of the Campus Services organization, you will assume responsibility for the facility needs of the largest site within Wabtec. Leveraging our extensive history of over 100 years and our infrastructure capabilities and challenges, you will focus on current and future needs given our evolving landscape. You will provide maintenance expertise, prioritize safety by putting our people first, and develop a culture aimed at reducing and mitigating risks. Additionally, you will develop customer requirements for improvement opportunities, maintain robust communication with our customers, and manage cost-competitive solutions and scope of work documents. You will also collaborate with the indirect sourcing organization to obtain competitive quotes and manage services.

Our mission is to support the operations team in optimizing resources and driving responsible operations for Wabtec business initiatives. We aim to leverage technology solutions for augmented manufacturing, enabling us to maintain and predict maintenance requirements more effectively. By utilizing these technologies, we can enhance our competitiveness and do more with our current workforce. What do we want to know about you?

Required Characteristics:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or High School Diploma) and 10 years of operations experience in a manufacturing setting (in lieu of degree requirement)
  • 3-5 years of leadership experience in manufacturing
  • Knowledge and demonstrated application of Lean Tools such as VSM, SMED, KanBan, Heijunka
  • Knowledge and demonstrated practical application of Statistical processes, Black Belt, and Green Belt preferred
