About the Department
The Section houses the RWJF Advancing Health Equity: Leading Care, Payment, and Systems Transformation National Program Office, the Center for Translational and Policy Research of Chronic Diseases, and the Bucksbaum Institute for Clinical Excellence. The Section runs PITCH, a primary care research fellowship (Laiteerapong, Dir.) and co-directs an AHRQ T32 Postdoctoral Health Services Research Fellowship (Meltzer, Chin, Co-Dir.). The development and growth of the Department of Public Health Sciences in direct proximity to the Section has added resources in epidemiology, biostatistics, and health services research. The close geographic proximity of premier social science departments to the Section and long history of interdisciplinary collaboration at the University of Chicago provide an unusually rich environment for interdisciplinary work in health services research. Three weekly seminars feature local and outside speakers.
