Job Description:

Depth & Scope:

  • Leads Consumer Bank's remediation efforts for major/material regulatory remediation/compliance efforts (non-AML)

  • Scope includes any new regulations that are being launched by the OCC, CFPB, Fed, etc including but not limited to:  SB 1071, FDIC370, CFPB 1033/1034, Credit Card Late Fees, etc.

  • Owns Consumer Bank Regulatory Remediation planning, Eagle Intake/Scope process for new Regulatory items and requirements development for remediations

  • Partners closely with Eagle Project office to ensure that these items are funded and/or that we have the Consumer specific requirements in scope for a broader project

  • Coordinates with Consumer Product and Distribution teams as well as with 2nd Lines of Defense/Legal to scope the regulator's guidance and understand what the requirements and structure of the work should be

  • Works closely with Consumer Vertical Delivery teams to hand off requirements, scope and approach for solution/build and stays close to the Vertical teams as the execution phase gets underway

  • Ensures that we look across business lines and processes to identify holistic solutions, where appropriate, to solve remediation needs

  • Enhances AMCB Consumer business governance and controls infrastructure and drive consistency in how we respond to regulators when issues arise

  • Partners closely with Audit to ensure that there is a clear plan to validate our work well ahead of any required delivery dates

  • Works across Consumer Business Excellence team to ensure that we understand the impacts of this work on Cost, Customer and Controls

  • Provides people management leadership by hiring the best and most diverse talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or progressive work experience

  • 10+ years of experience; preferably in diverse areas like product management, process engineering, operations, controls and regulatory remediation within or outside the financial services industry

  • Proven track record of building and developing high performing teams

  • Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills (issue identification, problem structuring, analysis, development of actionable recommendations) and conceptual thinking abilities

  • Strong understanding of and experience in implementing large scale and complex programs/projects; proven ability to work effectively with teams and individually

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Advanced facilitation and influence management skills, and proven ability to develop good business relationships with internal and external partners

  • Able to work in an unstructured and fast paced environment

Customer Accountabilities:

  • Understands customer experience impact of remediation activities

  • Drives TD Bank's Customer experience strategy within remediation plans

Shareholder Accountabilities:

  • Experienced leader that is well versed in the banking regulatory landscape and uses that to solve problems

  • Understands the Consumer Bank business and how TD operates
