We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Surgical Materials Assistant to join our team. The Surgical Materials Assistant is responsible for receiving and delivering income freight shipments. The position maintains stock par levels and enters items issued to departments in the computer inventory system. Stocks shelves in central supply and places stickers on items for patient charges. Rotates stock in central supply and assists with the checking of all stocked areas for outdated items. Assist Materials Manager with projects as requested.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS | Surgical Materials Assistant

1. Learn and maintain material par levels in the Surgical Department.

2. Accurately and timely deliver freight to all departments when needed.

3. Restock shelves and service areas efficiently and according to preset par levels.

4. Perform required, accurate, data entry operations, regarding purchase order entry, items issuances, and received goods entries.

5. Checks stocked areas for outdated items.

6. Understands how to prioritize responsibilities to ensure completion of duties.

7. Checks all documents for accuracy prior to processing

8. Maintains good interdepartmental and intradepartmental relationships by providing the highest level of services, management assistance, and open communication.

9. Is a self-starter; initiates the meeting of responsibilities without prompting.

10. Demonstrates the values of team concept on a consistent basis.

11. Performs multiple, accurate, physical inventory checks/counts throughout the facility each fiscal year.

12. Performs all additional tasks are assigned.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or G.E.D.
• Previous experience in shipping and receiving preferred
• Understanding of medical terminology perferred.
• Understanding of Microsoft office applications.
• Valid driver's license required.
