JOB POSITION: ASSISTANT BRAND CONTROLLER

 

Job Location- Solon,OH and Springfield ,OH

JOB SUMMARY:

 

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Assistant Controller with strong analytical and organization skills to support the preparation of financial reporting that adhere to business accounting guidelines. Working under the guidance of a controller, you will play a crucial role in communicating results while assisting in the establishment of effective control systems. 

To excel in this role, you must possess a strong understanding of accounting principles. As an organized professional with keen attention to detail, you should be dependable and capable of working independently and collaboratively. 

Your primary objective will be to ensure that the company’s accounting and financial processes meet established standards, promoting accurate business financial reporting and effective control. Reporting to a business controller, you will be an integral part of the finance team.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :  

 

• Preparing, analyzing, and publishing timely accounting reports for commissions, sales, orders, orderbook and other ad hoc reports 

• Support month-end and year-end close processes and adhering to strict closing schedule  

• Ensure quality control over financial reporting and internal reports  

• Test and document processes and compliance of internal controls and policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls 

• Manage and reconcile accounts for the monthly or annual closing 

• Assist in the preparation of annual plan and monthly forecasts 

• Participate in preparation for internal and external audits 

 

Requirements and skills 

 

• Proven experience as assistant controller or other similar position with minimum 5 years experience 

• Solid knowledge of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) and regulations 

• Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (annual planning, financial closure, reporting etc.) 

• Understanding of data analysis and forecasting 

• Knowledge of Microsoft Products Office, Excel, Power Query, with Power BI being a plus 

• ERP accounting software knowledge, preferably SAP 

• Well-organized with ability to prioritize tasks 

• Very good communication and interpersonal skills 

• Attention to detail and problem-solving ability 

• BSc/BA in accounting, finance or relevant field  

• Professional certification (e.g. CPA) or Master’s degree is a plus
