Construction Special Inspector

Description

Position Overview:

With ACI FTG1, ICC RC/PT, ICC Masonry, ICC Structural Steel and Welding, DSA Masonry, and AWS-CWI certifications, you will perform field duties which include inspection of masonry, structural steel welding, reinforcing steel, concrete placement and sampling, and tendon/cable placement and stressing at various project sites for buildings, structures and walls. Additional preferred inspection services, supported by applicable certifications, include fireproofing, ACI post-installed anchor inspections, and high-strength bolting.

Must use a company laptop computer to generate written documentation of test results and observations daily. We are looking for a team player with good communication skills and the drive to meet and exceed client needs!

Requirements

Required Education/Membership:

• High School/GED required 
• Active member of Local Operating Engineers 3 Union 

Required License/Certification:

• ACI Field Grade Testing I 
• AWS-CWI Certified Welding Inspector 
• ICC Reinforced Concrete  
• ICC Prestressed Concrete  
• ICC Structural Steel and Masonry 
• DSA Masonry 
• Valid Driver’s License 

Other Education/Certifications preferred:  

• ICC Structural Steel and Bolting 
• ICC Fireproofing 
• Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Level II 
• Magnetic Particle (MT) Level II 

Required Candidate Criteria: 

• Drug-Free 
• Clean Driving Record 
• Be able to physically lift 50lbs on a consistent basis 
• Candidate must have field-appropriate vehicle (daily vehicle reimbursement provided) 

Experience:? 

• 5+ years' experience with Special Inspections 
• Earthwork Construction Testing & Observations or related field experience a plus.
