Agency Workers will receive a W2 from the staffing agency reporting their earnings for tax purposes.Art Director, PeopleOne of our biggest brands, People, is looking for an Art Director to work closely with our Senior Creative Director and editorial leads to design and manage story templates (both static and video/motion) for a premium digital app. In this role you will collaborate with internal stakeholders to create a system of intuitive, scalable, and always-on-brand templates that support our content strategy and engage and delight our audiences. As an Art Director at People you will be responsible for doing competitive research, designing the look and feel of various brand elements and refining and iterating on those ideas for various stakeholders.

- Hourly Rate: Approx. $35/hr
- Work Location: NY, LA, or Seattle DDM office, hybrid
- Hours Per Week: 40
Assignment Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of assigned design projects and follow established processes to ensure smooth delivery of creative assets.
- Work alongside the Senior Creative Director to set the People App’s overall look and feel, and ensure execution across teams is on brand.
- Lead the creation of thoughtfully designed, easy-to-use static and motion templates (MOGRTs) that seamlessly integrate with the App’s UI.
- Track editorial team’s visual storytelling needs to consistently develop and deliver new and updated templates.
- Collaborate with product design team, commerce and growth teams.
- Help maintain digital brand guides.
Job Functions:
50%Design
- Use requirements and stakeholder feedback to produce design assets, such as premium static and motion templates, on an ongoing basis.
- Teach digital producers how to use the static and motion templates you have created as part of a larger design system.
- Present design solutions and build consensus among a broad range of stakeholders.
- Help build and maintain a happy and creative culture within the design team.
- Participate in brainstorming and critique sessions that foster big picture thinking while identifying opportunities to raise the bar on the details.
- Keep project management tickets up to date, communicate progress, keep files organized, monitor communication from stakeholders, and meet deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent education and experience
- 1-3 years as an Art Director, 5-10 years as a designer
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects, InDesign)
- Knowledge of Figma
- Strong typography skills
- Strong design system skills
- Strong motion graphics skills
- Strong editorial design skills
- Publishing industry experience
- Branding experience
