- Develops, executes and articulates industry-leading retail agency distribution strategies and that support key business objectives and provides a competitive advantage in the marketplace.
- Establishes an agency distribution vision within the Company’s corporate strategies and values to ensure continued business success.
- Works with the MUSIC Underwriting leadership to implement an agency distribution strategy to maximize growth and market penetration of Selective's retail agents while overseeing the day-to-day operations ensuring efficient and effective processes.
- Develops, and monitors, a compensation strategy for retailers and Agency Marketing Specialists to incent the achievement of profitable growth.
- Oversees policies and procedures for agency appointments and terminations, agency contracts and resolves disputes when necessary regarding issues such as agent of record situations.
- Develops business requirements for modifications to the agency appointment system ensuring the automation both meets the business need and mitigates compliance risk.
- Works with the E&S leadership, Marketing and Communications groups in the development and implementation of agency communication strategies.
- Develops and maintains value-added agency services and programs that further strengthen agency relationships and enable MUSIC to leverage greater profitable growth within agencies.
- Develop and implement strategies to expand market presence and customer base while monitoring market trends and competitor activities to adjust strategies as needed.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with retail agency partners to drive business and provide training and support to agency partners to ensure they are well-informed and equipped to promote our E&S offerings.
- Works with Business Intelligence group on agency analysis, including the incorporation of agency segmentation in agency reviews, new agency appointments and agency/company planning processes.
- Lead and mentor a team of underwriting and marketing professionals within the retail access facility.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team and set performance goals to conduct regular evaluations to ensure team members are meeting objectives.
- Provide regular reports on the performance and progress of the retail access facility to senior management.
- Use data and analytics to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement.
- Establish and leverage substantial and influential relationships with senior management and business clients as well as trade organizations and industry influencers.
- Prepare and manage the department’s operating expense budget.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Ability to drive strategic initiatives across business areas.
- Ability to develop effective relationships internally and externally.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Must possess superior underwriting, analytical, interpersonal and leadership skills and qualities.
- Pro-active, driven and takes initiative.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of time.
