Ferguson is currently seeking the right individual to fill an immediate need for a Mechanical Solutions Specialist applying the following areas of expertise: Commercial water heating, Hydronic heating, Pump systems. Prior sales and commercial water heater experience is preferred. If you have experience juggling multiple requests while still meeting urgent deadlines, this is an excellent opportunity to grow!
Responsibilities
- Grow sales within the Mechanical Solutions product mix (water heaters, boilers, storage tanks, expansion tanks, return pumps, booster pumps, sumps pumps, mixing valves, and venting solutions).
- Work regularly outside of the office selling to our customers and applying services such as field audit kits, present sales pitch & recommendations based on findings.
- Develop new customers with a focus on mechanical solutions business while applying traditional outside sales technique
- Drive regularly within a defined area, including overnight travel as needed, to develop and maintain relationships with customers, key national accounts, facility sales team, outside / inside sales team. and local contractors, while ensuring they are always satisfied with our products and services
- Develop and maintain vendor relations with rep firms and manufacturers
- Monitor sales trends and product performance results
- Develop pricing and quotations for replacement units, products, and services while aligning with brand strategy and maintaining market integrity
- Provide consultation where appropriate on piping system designs and propose alternative piping systems based on customer needs
- Continually improve sales skills and product knowledge to promote a professional image in the field
- Train customers and associates on domestic and hydronic piping systems as needed
- Identify and facilitate S2S opportunities to enhance transactional efficiency between FEI and contractor
- Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and life of equipment through domestic/Hydronic system audits
- Budget projects for contractors during the pre-construction phase
- Participates in associate meetings and communicates any concerns to management.
- Support corporate programs, goals, and initiatives of the company
- Adhering to all policies, rules, regulations, and procedures
- Performing other duties or functions as requested
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3+ years of outside sales experience managing a territory
- Hydronic system/Commercial Water heater experience preferred
- Familiarity with building information modeling tools and trends
- Understanding of mechanical piping systems along with new construction plans
- Polished sales presentation skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.
