Senior Staff Accountant

Description

As a Senior Staff Accountant at Angels In Your Home, you will be a key player in managing the general ledger and financial reporting. Your responsibilities will include maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and supporting management with crucial financial information for effective decision-making. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and cost accounting.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements (income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements) to evaluate the company's financial performance.
• Participate in the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, collaborating with department heads to develop realistic financial targets and monitor performance against budgets.
• Facilitate external audits and tax filings, working closely with auditors and tax advisors.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices, ensuring compliance with all DOH/OMIG rules and regulations.
• Maintain accurate filing and record-keeping systems for all financial statements and company documents.
• Accurately record all financial transactions, including revenue, purchases, receipts, and payments, maintaining journals, ledgers, and systematic posting of financial data.
• Close each month by the 10th day of the following month.
• Monitor cash flow, tracking incoming and outgoing funds to ensure sufficient liquidity, managing petty cash, and analyzing the cash position.
• Oversee general ledger transactions, collaborating with accounting staff on accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, and other balance sheet reconciliations.

Compensation: 

• $70,000 - $80,000

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation preferred.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience with revenue control, financial reporting, and cash handling responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
• Self-starter with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent team management and communication skills.
• Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks; working knowledge of Paylocity and HHA Exchange preferred.
• Proficiency in financial software systems and advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
