About the role

This position offers a #hybrid 3-4 days a week.

You will perform a valuable role in supporting the category advisor team and building a strong partnership with our Client by providing merchandising solutions and decision support that drive business growth

You will conduct high-quality analysis and synthesis of multi-source data to evaluate item performance, assortment planning, and store clustering through the modular process, while leveraging effective communication & influencing to orchestrate action.  

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Leverage retailer POS data, NielsenIQ, Circana (IRI), and other relevant data sources to maintain weekly reporting that evaluates item performance 
  • Develop and deliver ad-hoc reporting that creates actionable insights and recommendations to support sales line reviews 
  • Identify opportunities for category growth and sales improvement based on data analysis. 
  • Track and report on the performance of core and new product initiatives. 

Category Expertise:

  • Serve as the internal category expert, providing insights on pricing, promotional impacts, positioning, competitive landscape, and market needs
  • Stay up to date on market trends and consumer behavior
  • Collaborate with category managers, sales teams, and other stakeholders to implement category strategies
  • Effectively communicate data-driven insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences. 
  • Participate in the development of sales presentations and sell-in stories

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Business, Marketing, Statistics).

Work Experience Requirements:

  • Experience with retailer POS data, syndicated data sources (e.g., NielsenIQ, Circana), and JDA software.
  • 3+ years of experience in category management, retail analysis, or a related field.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, SAS, R, Python) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Understanding of the CPG industry and retail landscape.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
