Overview:
Directs the development and implementation of a (non-cyber) Corporate Security Intelligence Operations program and team, including but not limited to travel security, workplace violence mitigation program, security risk, vulnerability assessment coordination, executive security intelligence monitoring and security crisis management. Assists with development and business justification for the Security Operations Center (SOC) in partnership with M&T Technology, Crisis Management Team, Business Continuity Program Management and Cybersecurity Threat Intelligence.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Promote the overall mission of the Corporate Security Intelligence Operations program and related initiatives.
- Manage the development, implementation and maintenance of the Bank’s Corporate Security Intelligence Operations program’s associated policies, standards and guidelines ensuring alignment with overall strategy and organizational needs.
- Develop process for conducting site security risk assessments for Bank leadership, facilities, and personnel as well as travel security guidelines for the enterprise. Manage the development of a risk-based approach to rating security challenges surrounding Bank locations and geographies. Design, implement, maintain, and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis.
- Lead the selection and implementation of open-source intelligence platforms used by Corporate Security and internal stakeholders. Liaise with internal departments and external partners to ensure a unified approach to security intelligence gathering and dissemination.
- Lead the regional roll-out and strategy of key security intelligence programs and reporting.
- Develop a forward-thinking, reporting plan for a periodic Corporate Security intelligence summary on threat actors, industry trends, and media reporting which will be shared with Corporate Security and Bank leadership.
- Collaborate with Corporate Security leadership team and Regional Security leaders to create, implement and operationalize threat intelligence and security awareness trainings including recognition and reporting.
- Develop, implement, and maintain a strategic plan for reporting on Corporate Security involvement in security-related crises.
- Develop, implement, and maintain a plan for effective intelligence monitoring of corporate sponsored events, in collaboration with internal stakeholders such as M&T Technology and Corporate Events and Travel.
- Build and manage a team of security professionals, ensuring training regarding best practices.
- Regularly assess potential security threats and vulnerabilities within the organization to build and implement a risk mitigation strategy.
- Maintain excellent rapport and open lines of communication regarding requests for support, service issues, and deliverables.
- Exercise usual authority of a manager concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management and terminations.
- Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Design, implement, maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.

- Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

Scope of Responsibilities:
This individual is a member of M&T Bank’s Corporate Security leadership team and will oversee the holistic collection, analysis, and strategic utilization of intelligence data to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate potential threats to the organization’s personnel, equities, assets, and brand. Serves as an intermediary between M&T Threat Intelligence staff, intelligence vendors and external security personnel to ensure cohesive threat monitoring coverage and brand protection in all regions. Travel within the Bank’s footprint required to perform job duties.
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:
Position will manage a team of 5 intelligence Analysts, Specialists, and/or Advisors.
Education and Experience Required:
