Are you a person who loves branded gear, the physical elements of branding, and event experiences? This team member is passionate about the importance of merchandise to the overall brand experience of an organization. They will be responsible for sourcing, managing, and curating inventory of all products and promotional materials and work to ensure that all deadlines, inventory requirements, and orders are completed in a timely manner. They will also support the Events Manager with the planning and execution of events and overall general administrative duties as needed for the Marketing & Communications department.
Responsibilities include identifying new brand partners who align with our core values, overseeing the vendor selection process, sourcing relevant and eye-catching products to craft the brand experience, forecasting inventory demands, managing supply, and negotiating with suppliers. They collaborate with the events, creative, communications, and proposal teams to plan, execute, and measure nationwide promotional and merchandising campaigns.
Reporting to the Events Manager on the Brand team, the ideal candidate is a creative marketer with a passion for branding and/or merchandizing, who has experience in retail or promotional materials. They are innovative, organized, and detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and manage their time and resources effectively. The position requires excellent communication skills, an understanding of emerging trends in gifting, merchandising, and promotional items, budget management, vendor relations, and vendor management. The ideal candidate has a refined style and understands HITT’s brand aesthetic.
Responsibilities
Manage the HITT printed materials and gear webstore portals through ongoing vendor management and collaboration with Marketing, and recomplete as necessary to ensure competitive pricing, products, and service
Identify product and merchandising opportunities that support brand positioning and overall brand goals
Manage entire scope of merchandising to include vendor relationships, webstore, stock management, product recommendations, and budget management
Oversee inventory tracking and approvals, as well as product levels
Track inventory movement and systematically introduce promotions, sales, price changes, etc. to ensure ROI
Analyze sales and prepare quarterly reporting on product recommendations for senior leadership
Identify opportunities to increase brand awareness and improve brand positioning through tangible brand materials
Partner with the creative team to develop seasonal offerings and updates to keep the webstore products fresh
Work closely with Events Manager to produce memorable gifting for team members, clients, and partners
Assist Events Manager with event proposals, vendor selection, and budget development
Support on-site execution of client events and larger HITT team member events, as needed
Provide general administrative support as needed for the Marketing department
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, Communications, or Graphic Design is required, or other degree plus relevant work experience
3-5 years of experience in a combination of merchandising, creative strategy, and branding; retail/wholesale industry experience and/or a focus on catalog layout and promotional selection and advertising highly desirable
Experience in meetings / events management, tradeshow support, and custom high-end client gifting is preferred
Experience in strategic branding and merchandising for a fast-paced national or global organization is required; a working knowledge of the A/E/C marketplace is a plus, but not required
Experience developing vendor relationships, establishing budgets and cost agreements, and managing contracts
Familiarity with the latest trends, technologies and methodologies in merchandising and webstores
Working knowledge of website management and content
